    The problem

    Volume, not complexity, is what breaks these projects.

    A mid-sized automated warehouse has tens of thousands of sensors, drives, scanners and motor cards to check. Every one is trivial; together they are the schedule.

    Paper checklists and spreadsheets cannot report which aisle or ASRS crane is actually complete, so throughput and availability testing starts before I/O checkout on the sorter and shuttle fleet is actually finished.

    Setting up the register

    Aisles, zones and modules give the volume a shape.

    Racking, shuttles, cranes, conveyor sections, sorters, scanners, robots and control panels are tagged and grouped into aisles, zones and systems.

    Layouts and I/O schedules are parsed into the register, so the checkout list is generated rather than typed.

    Roll-up per zone is what lets the project release areas progressively instead of at the end.

    Execution

    Checkout is the work, so the record set must be fast.

    Short mobile forms per asset type keep the pace of high-volume checkout: install verification, drive parameters, sensor alignment and I/O confirmation.

    Offline capture matters in steel-heavy buildings with unreliable coverage; records sync when the tablet reconnects.

    Punch is raised at the asset and grouped by zone so the rework crew can be routed efficiently.

    Acceptance

    Throughput testing is gated on checkout that is actually finished.

    Zone acceptance depends on the asset records beneath it, and throughput or availability testing sits above that with its own prerequisites.

    Because carried punch is visible with owners and dates, availability disputes during the warranty period start from a record.

    Handover per zone exports the evidence to the operator's maintenance team.

    Throughput and availability proving

    Every sensor can pass its own check and the system can still miss its throughput number on day one.

    Point-level checkout — is this photo-eye working, does this drive report its speed feedback — is necessary but not sufficient. A warehouse control system integrating thousands of proven points can still fail its throughput and availability test if merge logic at a sortation point creates jams under real load, or if crane cycle time at a specific aisle profile falls short of the design number.

    Throughput testing has to be run against defined load profiles and product mixes, not a single idealised carton stream, and availability testing has to run over a sustained period to expose the intermittent faults that a five-minute demonstration never surfaces.

    Deskely holds the throughput and availability test results — by zone, by load profile, by duration — as their own record set above the asset-level checkout, so the operator's go-live decision is made against a proven system performance number rather than a rolled-up percentage of individually-passed sensors.
