1. Who we are

Compass Energy Pte. Ltd. (“Deskely”, “we”, “us”), registration number 200302890M, is the organisation responsible for the personal data described in this policy. We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (PDPA) and, where it applies to our processing, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at privacy@deskely.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers personal data we collect through the website, through requests for demonstrations and information, and in managing our relationships with clients, partners, suppliers and candidates.

It does not cover project data that our clients store in the Deskely platform. For that data we act as a data processor on our client’s instructions, under the terms described on our Data processing page. If you are a platform user, your organisation’s privacy notice applies to that data.

4. How we use it

  • to respond to your request and arrange a demonstration or meeting;
  • to prepare proposals and to manage contracts and relationships with clients, partners and suppliers;
  • to send information about our products where you have asked for it or where the law allows it, with an option to opt out in every message;
  • to assess job applications;
  • to keep the website and our systems secure and working;
  • to meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interests in running and developing our business, on steps taken at your request before entering a contract, on the performance of a contract, on legal obligations, or on your consent where it is required. Under the PDPA, we rely on your consent, which may be given or deemed when you submit information to us, and on the exceptions the PDPA provides.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

  • service providers that host our website and systems, deliver our email, and run our customer relationship tools, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions;
  • our sales representatives and partners, where needed to respond to you in your region;
  • professional advisers, auditors and authorities, where required by law or to protect our legal rights;
  • a buyer or successor, if our business or part of it is sold or reorganised, subject to this policy.

6. International transfers

We are based in Singapore, and our service providers operate in Singapore, the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal data outside the country where it was collected, we make sure it receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA and, where the GDPR applies, we use safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Demo requests and business contact details are kept while the relationship is active and reviewed at least every two years. Job applications are kept for up to twelve months after the role is filled unless you agree to a longer period. Records we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons are kept for the period the law requires.

8. Security

We protect personal data with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption at rest, access controls and monitoring.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to:

  • ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, and how it has been used;
  • ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your data, or to restrict how we use it;
  • object to our use of your data based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
  • withdraw consent you have given, without affecting use before the withdrawal;
  • receive data you gave us in a portable format.

To use any of these rights, write to privacy@deskely.com. We will respond within the time the applicable law requires. You may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore or, in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, to your local data protection authority.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Where a change is significant, we will tell the people affected.
