Overview

A project specification set can run to 50,000 pages, of which a few paragraphs apply to any one item. Clause finds those paragraphs, pulls them into the item's datasheet with their references, and leaves the engineer to complete and sign it.

Clause is part of Deskely Engineer, one of four suites across the life of a project. Every product reads from and writes to the same tag register, so each stage starts with clean data from the last.

Used by discipline engineers, procurement engineers, package engineers and owner's engineering teams.

What Clause replaces.

Searching the specifications for the clauses that apply.

TodayEvery volume searched by keyword, and the clauses copied into the datasheet by hand.
With ClauseThe clauses that apply to the item, in its datasheet fields, each with its reference.
How Clause works

From specification set to datasheet.

What happens when an item needs its datasheet.

  1. 01Load the specification set

Client and project specifications and the standards they reference, however many volumes there are.

  2. 02Choose the item

Pick a tag, an item type or a datasheet. Clause finds every paragraph that applies to it, by service, material, rating and location.

  3. 03Requirements arrive in the fields

They land in the matching fields of your own datasheet template, each linked to its document, section and page.

  4. 04Check, complete and issue

Where two specifications disagree, both are shown. The engineer decides, completes and issues the datasheet.

Clause does the searching. Engineers make the calls.

The engineer completes, checks and issues every datasheet.

  1. 1Found by Clause

The paragraphs that apply to the item, from every volume and referenced standard.

  2. 2Flagged for review

Where two specifications say different things about the same item, both are shown with their references.

  3. 3Your call

The engineer resolves it, completes the datasheet and issues it.
