How it is drawn
Where you see it
Flow, pressure, level and temperature control loops.
What is written next to it
On the isometric, the control valve usually carries the instrument tag, such as FV-101, from the P&ID.
What gets checked on site
For a control valve, the site checks usually cover the tag, the flow direction, access to the actuator and the bolting. Control valves are often removed or replaced by a spool during flushing. Each check is recorded against the line and the joint, so the line can go into its test pack and be handed over with its evidence. See the ITR guide.
